Pregnate Guppys

My guppys are finally looking ready to pop, i have had about 5 batches in the past... so i am excited about these ones... one thing that kinda gets to me is that there bellys are compleatly black is that normal, they are looking very pregnate and have been acting kinda laborish.. but is that black tummy normal. i have never noticed this before... thanks

Uh-oh.... Every time mine has black bellies besides the actual " babies inside" They end up dying. One of my guppies are slowing starting to turn dark like what you're talking about, and I'm starting to get worried...

Is the black belly your talking about couldn't it be the 'GRAVID SPOT' increasing in size, i have found that some of my pregnant guppies have a very large GRAVID SPOT which spreads right the way accross their bum, while others only have a very small GRAVID SPOT.

Are the guppies looking healthy and swimming normally?

my guppies gravid spot gets bigger as they get fatter i have noticed maybe its cos theree are alot of babies eyes??? i havnt ever had a guppie fry just platy fry and some odd fry that might be hybrids!!

You know when the guppy is in labour or not far off, when she goes from being rounded to a abit squarish from the back, also before the babies are born sometimes you can see the little eyes peeking through the skin shortly before birth (abit cute but creepy)

Mum will scout out the tank looking for hidy places to drop her babies, especially around plant roots and aquarium decorations!!!!!

On the other hand my mums dont really bother looking they hang out at the top of the tank and pop them out like little peas!!!!

my female guppys are pregnant but last time april a guppy was preganant and died !!! and now i had baby today which look like guppy fry but last time i thought that they turned out to be platys!!!....... they are tiny fry must of been born today/last night ...... they are only this big --- yup that big!! some escaped through my net!!!....... but i am am not sure wether they are guppys beacse the guppyy still looks fat........ oh wait i went and took a look she isnt that fat at all now and yester day she had a red mark where her gravid was .............i really wish i had more space for more tanks but i dnt have enuf plug sockest i need a birthing tank!!!! and a bigger babyes tank!! i am saving money for somthing.......... porbably new tank!

yep they look fine.. i guess i am off about how far along they are, but i know the min i take em out of the birthing tank they will pop..
