HI. Well i need some help from more experienced people in this field. I've had a fish tank for a while, but this is first time i have guppies.
I have 4 guppies. (3m, 1f) and female is VERY pregnant. And I've noticed my males are always chasing her around and they hang out by her anal fin.
She's been acting strange today. she will drop all the way to the bottom of the fish tank on to the drift wood, and when she touches it, she jerks. and she keeps doing i over and over. I also noticed today she is extremely fat looking with her Gravid Spot very big and bulging.
So I separated her into the breeding trap, and now she is freaking out. I mean she is swimming back and forth, going upside down, and she does it very fast. I am afraid she will stress out and somehow hurt herself or fry.
I also have many plants in the tank (live and fake) so i wonder if I should just let the nature take its coarse and let her be.
Any advice would be helpfull. Here are some pics

this is our tank. and few pics of her

Edit: I just read the stages of guppy pregnancy and she must be at stage 6 or 7 (but more on 7) and I guess i will just leave her in the breeding trap. b/c of the harassment from the males. I just hope she won't stress out to much and deliver her fry soon.

I cant view the pictures, its says page not found.

You haven't got enough females in tank for the amount of males. The usual ration is 2 or 3 females to 1 male. This is probably the reason why she is getting harassed so much. Because the males have no other females to show off to. If you want lots of fry, then I would recommend putting her in the trap. But there is also the slight possibility that she will abort her fry. But if you leave her in the tank, the males will most definitely eat the fry, partly because of competition (Because they aren't the father of the fry) and partly because they want the fry out the way so they can breed with her next time.

You need to get some more females in there asap. If not, the males could harass her to death. For the time being, since you say she is quite far into her pregnancy, leave her in the trap. If not many fry come, don't worry. The more females you get, the more fry you'll have.

If you decide to let nature take its course, you wont get as many fry as you would in the breeder, because they will be eaten. But if you have a lot of plant coverage, you could leave her in there, and get maybe 10 fry.

Anyway Good Luck, whatever happens. :good:

Thank you. I will add more females soon.

And I want to get as many fry as i can save. So i will wait and see if by this evening she won't pop i will let her go out for one more night.

Thank you for your advice :good:

I let nature take it in. If they get eaten its not your fault its natures for not providing shelter. but only mean fish eat there fry. My guppy never ate her fry, nether did her husband fish :hyper:
