Is my platy a little fattie, or preggers?

All 3, two females and one male, have always looked podgy to me since we got them (couple of weeks ago).
However, one of my ladies seems to have grown a lot overnight.

I'd like your verdict please... is this little lady pregnant?

Apologies for the poor quality pics. I'm not good with the camera, and she was getting a little stressed by it (even without flash) so I tried to be quick.

has she got a dark black spot above her anal fin inside her body (gravid spot) if so, she's got babies on the way. if you cant see one because of body markings or somin, its still likely youve got a delivery.

I can't see a dark spot, but there is what looks like a dark line running from the centre of her belly backwards to her tail.
Also her belly looks lighter than the rest of her body, as if it is stretched like a balloon.
I'm just amazed at how much she has grown so quickly!

Dont go by the gravid spot, its so misleading...

When her belly squares off near her anal fin, thats when she will be ready...

She will do the following when ready to drop...

Dwell on bottom of tank...
Hover near the heater..
Hover near a internal filter (if you have one)
Dwell in or near plants..
She will simply just be out of the way of other fish and not very social...

If you have a breeding trap, you could try her in that for a night, and see if she has dropped in morning..
If not release her cos you dont want to stress her out to much..

Keep a close eye on her for doing the following and like i said above, dont go by the gravid spot, especially on platys mollies and swordtails as it can be very misleading...

Looks like she is.

Doesn't look very far along though.

I only say this because she looks like my Red Platy and she isn't ready yet.

She does look pregnant. I posted a photo of a platy that looked like that about 2 weeks ago. Several said she was going to pop any day. Two weeks later she's still not dropping but dear lord is she huge! So just keep on the look out for them! Congrats!
