One of my fish seems to be getting bigger... atleast it seems this way to me.. I thought that my two white fish were males... but I'm starting to think otherwise.... I've noticed that my two dalmation mollies (which I know for sure are males) have started to rub up against one of my white fish... and follow her around.... she doesn't seem to mind it at all either because when they aren't around her she goes after them to get their attention...

I have some pictures that I took.. and I was just curious if anyone could help me identify if she really is pregnant or not...

Thanks everyone!

Well, that's a nice-looking female you've got there (note the anal fin which is triangular shaped; males have a gonopodium instead, a sort of primitive willy).

She might well be pregnant. Not much of a gravid spot showing, but that might be because of her colouring. My orange platy never shows anything except sheer size, but drops regular batches all the same.

Keep an eye on her with the sex ratio you've got. Ideally, livebearers should be kept 2 females to 1 male, because the males are so highly sexed. Just make sure they are not stressing her out, particularly when she gets nearer to giving birth.

I'd say yes, she's pregnant. Chances are, if she has a male in the tank, they mated and she's pregnant. :p

I can see a slight gravid spot, though that doesn't mean they are pregnant. However, on her, she seems to be a lot fatter then the other fish in the pictures. Keep an eye on her, and see if she steadily keeps getting fatter. :)

gravid spot??.... I don't know what this is.... can anyone describe it to me.... or show me pictures?...

It's a dark spot near the anal fin on the female. It's where you'll sometimes see babies if they are pregnant. You can see it on this pregnant female Guppy here. :)
