Pregnant Platys Blowing Up?

Hi, this first happened about 8 weeks ago, a platy got pregnant then instead of giving birth it just got bigger and bigger until its scales started stretching, then a little blood came out its anus nd it died shortly after. I now have a species only tank with the same male that got the one i just mentioned pregnant, he is now with 4 females, all 4 females have been pregant fo close to 5 weeks and they are huge, they should have, or should just about be giving birth but they look like they are getting so big the same might happen to all four of them could it be the male? what is going on???

The one that got huge and died, did it have a like a red balloon type of ball look to it on the anal?

If so this is a internal problem, i cant remember what the name of it is and what causes it but post it in the emegency section and hopefully wilder will sort you out

no there was no visible signs of disease it just couldn't seem to give birth, it almost looked round from head on! the poor thing. What would we do without wilder aye.
