Pregnant Platy

Ok, I have a pregnant platy that just swelled up in a coupleof hours! Shewas literally slightly bigger than normal this morning and is now huge! I fed frozen brine shrimp tonight and she may have eaten too much although none of the other fish swelled up. Is this normal for a platy? I'm good with breeding swords and gups but not much experience with Platys.

To make sure it's not just bloat, feed some peas. Microwave some frozen peas, remove the shell, smoosh it up a bit, and feed to the fish. They will basically just poo like crazy.

Yes it is normal to see this sometimes. I noticed the fish will often swell up very large, shrink down a bit, and then grow progressively larger up until the time of birth.

Yeah, she went down again but is still larger than normal with a visible gravid spot. It's not ususally visible so hopefully I'll get fry within 2 weeks!
