We got a pregnant platy at the fish store about a week ago. Two days ago, we placed her in the plastic breeder trap. Around 2:30AM, I noticed one baby in the bottom of the breeder. By 6:30 AM, there were no more. Could she still give birth to more? Or is it possible she only had the one baby? Should I remove her from the breeder, or wait another 24 hours or so?

This is our first pregnant fish, so many thanks for any advice!

If she is still fat i would imagine she has more to come, they do not just drop them all at once all the time, avoid moving her for a few more days as thiwill stress her and maybe cause her to abort. if she drops no more in 2/3 days then she might be uncomfertabe in the breeding box thigy (i have1 2 lol). after few more days put her back in the tank with rest of fish, should of dropped em all by then. but with fish anything is poss!

Great, thank you! I hope there's more to come! :)

I had the same problem. I had only 1 fry and it was dead lol. So i returned it to the tank lol.

if she has no more with in 24hrs i would put her back in the main tank,
its not good to leave them in these traps for longer, if you do she could abort the lot.
