Pregnant Platy Dying From Fry Getting Stuck In The Vent.

One of my platy's died from a fry getting stuck in the vent. Is that common in platy's and could my other 2 die?

Unfortunately it does happen from time to time, but usually they just pop them out

It may have been the other way around, that she was dying while giving birth and just did not have the strength left to finish birthing.
It is hard on those female live bearers to constantly being pregnant and giving birth!!!

She had 6 healthy fry the other night so I am hoping they survive

How can I keep them from dying? I don't do well with fry.

If your tank is well planted then some fry will survive, they're very good at hiding.
Tbh having fry the first time is exciting, but they do drop every 28/30 days so saving all the fry will mean you'll soon be over stocked

I have them in a breeding trap and I am feeding them Hitaki first bites
