Pregnant Platy Being Pestered

Hey my pregnant platy is being pestered by the dominant female and i think it is stressing her out, is this because i dont have the right male to female ratio?

How many females to males do you have?

Males will pester females to mate with them,has you have a pregnant female its more than likely she may be getting close to dropping her fry,the male will follow her and try to eat the fry then mate with her once she's done.

You really need 2/3 females to one male...

Yeah you really need 1 male for every 2-3 females, the two males wiill really pester her, have you room to get maybe 3 more females?

not yet but this is why im despiratly trying to get a bigger tank, the stupid people at pets at home dont know anything about fish, thats why they all die in that shop

I don't mean to sound rude,but not all fish die from particular shops,it can also be due to poor water quality,infections,overcrowding,anything can cause fish to die...

no lol im not saying my fish die when you go there there are lots of sick and dead fish in the tanks already before i bought them

That's a good idea just remeber to take her out when she has finished other wise she will eat them. Like harlequins said you should idealy have a 1:3 or 1:2 ratio (1 male 3 females or 1 male 2 females) i have 1:3 ratio with my guppies.

Exactly right.

There si a lot of diseases that fish pickup and a lot of them u dont even detect til its to late, internal parasites etc is one of the worse for showing signs to late.

In that case, NEVER buy from a tank containing dead fish, infact i wont buy fish from stores like that due to them having the tanks run off one big filteration system, diseases can spread so fast in them shops.

Pets @ home use 1 filter system for all tanks so if 1 fish get's ill and it is infectious it will pass through the filter and water exchange.

Yes never buy a fish from A fish tank that has dead or sick fish example.two weeks ago i bought two lovely lythertail guppys one died he next night and the other had to be ethenized because it had dropsey,i go back thenext day and in the tank i got the two from ...every thing was desimated accept for one high fin platy hat i wanted bu i knew that tank was infected,so i said nope im gonna pass
