Hey,

Sorry, I'm new with fish so I'm a little confused about this.
6 months ago I got 3 zebra danio's and 5 black neon tetras. Recently I've noticed that one of my zebra danio's has become abnormally fat. I researched it on the internet, and I've learned that breeding is rare in captivity for this species, and so I'm worried it has an internal bacterial infection. The only problem is that the only side effect I've noticed is the bloating, and I don't want to endanger my fish by treating it for something it may not have.
What can I do??
Thanks,
~Bever

Hi it could be dropsy is its scales sticking out like a pine cone
maybe you should check this site out www.thetropicaltank.co.uk/hddropsy.htm

Thanks for the link. Unfortunatly it looks like my fish does have droppy. The scales are kind of sticking out, but it's diet and coloring is normal. I'll try some treatment options and see how it goes.

you can get a knife and cut into its stomach if it has little baby fish in there it was pregnant if it doesnt then you know it was sick
