Pregnant Or Not

Recently my female High fin varites play has contracted mouth rot (look for High fin varites platy has mouth rot under common live bearers) and apparently seems to look pregnant with a very large gravid spot and looks like she will burst but there seems to be no fry . I have tryed putting her in the breeder box but she hasn't given birth. Can someone please help me?

breedser tanks/nets often stress fish out so they may abort. Also, I'm not sure if they will give birth when they are sick. Give it some more time like a couple of days. She may give birth then.

mine gave birth yesturday morning when i wasnt looking, to be honest she swelled up within the first week of pregnancy and stayed the same size until the night before she gave birth. i noticed that she hid in dark corners for 2 weeks not eating or moving alot. she had no signs that she was going to drop fry, i just woke up in the early afternoon, cause im a lazy git and she was a normal size, then spent the day catching fry that had survived the early morning feast.

You can't force fish to give birth, but that fin rot should be the first agenda, regardless of pregnancy. There are antifungal medicines readily available at your LFS.

She has been like that on and off for quite a while. She hasn't look as big as the one in the photo.
