Pregnant Molly Having Major Troubles....kinda Urgent!

Hello all,

My Balloon Molly is pregnant (and yes I know they usually have a big belly) and having major problems delivering....she is almost laying on the bottom of the tank, and even letting some of the smaller pond snails crawl on her. Her birth canal (for lack of a better word) seems really big, and it's been that way for a few days. She looks like she is about to die. Is there anything I can do for her?

Any suggestions?

Ouch. Try to keep all stress off her....no other fish, no lights, no messing with the tank...etc. I haven't had experience with birthing difficulties (knock on wood) so maybe someone else will come along with more experience. Good luck!

I would do as Annastasia said but maybe also try increasing your temp a little bit and adding a bit of salt. My experience is mollies do not like giving birth when the light is on so try to keep that off as much as possible. Good luck!!!! Enjoy the fry they are fun to watch!
