2 of my black mollies have balloned quite a lot recently (bout 9 days ago) then one of them went back to normal and i thought nothing of it.

then the other day i found a lone baby swimming around so iscooped him up and put him in another tank.

one of the females is still really big and i don't know whether she is pregnant or not and whether to put her in my breeding tank?

i got a pic of what the 2 fishes sizes are (i drew the stomach on one them :p_

thanks

Definately pregnant, or about to burst one of the two B) If you want to save the fry, you better put her in a breeder tray, and make sure to use a fry trap, because she WILL eat her own babies, sometimes even before they make it into the breeder trap! I had a gold dust molly that ate about half her babies the instant they came out. kinda gross, and cruel but, such is life.

My black molly is pregnant, too, I believe. Her stomach is certainly bigger than it was, but she has remained this way for about 5 days. It is hard to tell if she is getting bigger. I have the breeding net/tray with the fry section, just want to try and see if I can time the delivery somewhat. If I had put her in there when I first suspected the pregnancy, she would have been in there for five days this far. This is my first molly birth so I am new to this! :p

Is there a way to tell if they are close to delivering? Actually what is their gestation period? That will help somewhat.

Good luck with your new babies.
