I have some pics of two mollies... Just wondering what you guys think. how close they might be to dropping. The black one is so stretched width wise that the scales are poking out;) the damnation I just got today she's very big.. Also she's been hanging out by the filter and not moving around much. Anyway let me know what you think!

I think so too but I haven't had a successful drop with any of my mollys yet. I don't have much faith in my guesses now.

Thanks!! on another note one of my guppies had 10 babies tonight I was able to scoop them up an get them in a fry net.

I tend not to put the females in the breeder box as they get stressed out.
This can cause problems for them.
The recommendations range from between 12-48hrs max but also chasing a pregnant fish round with a net is not good either.
The mother may eat them as well in a confined space unless there is a spacer in the breeder box.

My suggestion is to have sufficient cover in the main tank for fry. Plenty will survive.
I then net them and put them in the breeder box

good luck with the fry! they are really cool to watch grow up!

I have lots of cover but the babies are eaten anyway inless I catch them first. I havent left them in there 24 hours even and I let both out this morning Ill just keep an eye on them. seems mollies are much more likely to loose their babies due to stress. i never had problems with guppies in breeding tanks but my mollies seem to have problems. they look squared up so i put them in and they loose the babies.... oh well ill keep trying!!

I have a dalmation with very similar colouring and she has produced some beautiful fish.
Good luck!

So some bad news te black one was literally laying on the bottom of the tank last night when I went to bed and this morning she was dead. She was huge. I guess it's possible she had something wrong with her too.

Babies tonight!!! I was able to snatch up 8 by the time I got home and noticed momy was skinny. It was the dalmation Molly.
