How would i know if my kribensis is pregnant? The female seems to be hiding under rocks a lot, and the male checks in on her every once in a while. Now they're both out and hiding together behind another rock. They haven't always done this, so i was just wondering..

Kribs dont get pregnant, they are egg layers.

Look at the female carefully. If you see a small tube extending from her anal area. Then she is ready to lay the eggs.

But if she lays eggs, she will do this in some sort of cave, then the female will guard the eggs for about 2-3 days after the eggs have been fertilized.

The male during this time will sort of check in/stand guard for her, while she is in the cave with the eggs.

Is it possible for you to look inside the cave and see if you can see any eggs on the underside of the cave, or whatever she was hiding in?

I heard that if you lower the temp for a couple of weeks, then do a large water change and raise the temp back up, that it will "push" them to spawn.

Also, I read adding some aquarium salt to the tank helps to spawn. But if you have any live plants in the tank, I would not add salt to the tank.

This is just what I heard and read, nothing I have tried first hand.
