Pregnant Guppy

Hi everyone

i have a very pregnant guppy. which has been pregnant for quite sometime now and she is getting fatter and fatter and even her chest is getting bigger too. her gravid spot is very dark and i can even see the fry eyes. but i have read that the guppy will start hanging around on her own which she is kind of doing, but she isnt hiding around the plants. she is still swimming around everywhere and is eating like a horse. the only differents i have seen is that she is eating more and swimming around on her own. the male guppies to come and see her now and then and peck at the private end. i have also done a load of test just to makesure that the water is in good condition which it is. does anyone know why she hasnt given birth yet because i want her to give birth soon becuase i have another two which are pregnant but only on the early stages and i would like to put them in a different tank but dont want to until the other one has given birth. i have lots on heavily planting areas in the tank too so because can hide if she wants. i know the breeding net is a bad thing but i have put that in the tank to but made it that they can swim out and in when ever they like so they dont get stressed in there. the really pregnant guppy does go in there sometime to relax but doesnt stay in there. i just really would like some help, and if anyone has any ideas when she may give birth. i have had her for about six weeks and she has been with the male guppies since i have had her.

Depending on how old she was when you got her she should have babies every 28 day or close to. Once you start to see the eyes it’s a good idea to put her in the breeding tank. If you only have guppies in the tank I would just leave her in and most of the fry well be fine if they have hiding spots. Oh and the fry should be ready to give birth at 3 months.
