Pregnant Guppy?

one of my guppies dropped her fry on sunday i got about 17!
now within the last 2 days she has gotten bigger again. she looks like she got drop anyday, but is this possible so soon

I have a guppy like that too. The first time she gave birth she did stay big for 5 weeks before giving birth again. She just had her second pregnancy and gave birth to 18 fry. And once again she is still huge! The sign I look for, when they are big like this making me anxious to see them have more fry, is look for the enlarged anal whole.
You know how it turns that white color and looks bigger? That's what I look for. I have a platy who has been like that for a few days now and I'm waiting for her to drop. That's always been the best sign for me. Whenever I see that I can tell they'll be having babies within a few days or so, sure enough they always do.

so when do i know when shell be ready to drop do you have pics of the difference or what to look for , their gravid patch is the same all the time so i cant tell by that?
anyone else help??

The reason why they dont always lose the weight is just before giving birth they are already producing the eggs for the next batch of fry.

Just remember that guppies dont feed their fry like mammals do, the fry dont get any larger than the eggs, they are getting fatter due the the next eggs devloping.

As for the one that dropped on sunday, expect another drop from her in 4-6 weeks, usually the 4 week mark.. keep a diary of dates your guppies drop, you will then see a pattern in the drops

She may just be overfed, after dropping she will have been very hungry, and maybe she just ate a lot lol.. or you could be mistaken and maybe the fry belonged to another one...

Strange cos on one of the pics she does look heavily pregnant, but when zooming on this pic she just look overfed

Expect her to drop within 28-35 days
