Hi all - i have 2 guppies that i origionally got for my 10G tank. Then i decided to turn my 10G into a female betta tank so the guppies were moved into my 96G tank. I didn't think they would make it honestly...they were super tiny culls i got cheap from the petstore. Anyway now they are HUGE, i don't think i've seen a guppy as big as mine but then again i don't really have experience with guppies.
So i have a couple pics - she's gotten a huge belly recently - what do you guys think? Pregnant or No?

Definitely pregnant....you can tell by the dark gravid spot by her anal fin. I'd expect babies within the next few weeks. Congrats! :)

Yes...definitely pregnant and they look spookily like two of my females who are also heavily pregnant!!! Both with their gravid spots and ready to pop any day!
Congratulations and I'd love to know how you get on when the fry do arrive.
EDIT: It's possible they are both females...can you see their anal fins clearly? If it is pointed then it is male if it is a fan shape then female. They may have been impregnated whilst still in the LFS and stored up until now.

sarah - i'm not that's possible as they were sooo tiny - no colour etc.
here's the pic of the only other guppy i have

this one is quite a bit bigger than the other guppy.

It's not possible for another livebearer to impregnate is it?! i have some balloon molly's and tri coloured platys....i'm sure i know the answer but i had to ask anyway

From what I can see they both look pregnant... the one in he fore-fromt and then the one with the blue bits on her fins. They both look female with gravid spots. Mollies can impregnante guppies I think (quite happy to be wrong!)

ooo oooo oooooooo!!!!!!!! show us pics show us pics!!!! dangit! i saw a pic of an adult muppie somewhere but i can't find it!!!! grrrr

pics posted for sure...i hope they don't give birth too soon...i think i need to get another tank.i'm quite sure with the rainbows and angels and danios the babes will be eaten before you can say fry. I sure hope they hold out for another week til i get paid again.

Sorry to burst your all's bubble...but Molly/Guppy hybrids are very rare, and usually will not happen unless you really try. Also, it can be very stressful on the female Guppy, if she was impregnanted by a Molly, because the fry will be much too big for her, since Molly fry are definitely bigger then Guppies.

99% chance she stored sperm. Sorry to be the party pooper. :/

i'd be happy with that if that's the case - i don't want sick or defomed fry - but i've had them for roughly 6-8 Months and they were such teeny baby's with no colour, i'm not that's possible. I've only had the 2 females so - i'm not sure....

They can be impregnanted when they are 3 months old, and then store sperm...and they can store sperm for however long, and have up to 7 pregnancies. I'm thinking they stored it. But who knows, I guess you'll have to see how they come out.

And the fry shouldn't be sick or deformed, just hybrids.
