Hi

I have a pregnant guppy - she's new to the tank but obviously pregnant and I'd say a week away from giving birth - and she is almost constantly swimming from the bottom of the tank to the top and repeating over and over again. I have a 200 litre tank which is about half a meter tall so lots of room.

Could it be stress from being pregnant? Is she about to give birth?

Tank parameters are fine (0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 5-10 nitrates). Tank is mainly live bearers and has 6 female guppies 2 male guppies so that ratio should be fine?

I'm hoping it's not serious!

Thanks

Years ago my molly was diving up and down the tank before she practically exploded with fry. Only time that behaviour was observed.

My female Guppy does this all the time...

Mainly after feeding or a water change...

The thing is she looks pregnant to me also... and she still does it...

I don't think its serious. But I'm a newbie so sorry if I'm not much help.
