Pregnant Guppy Or Just Fat

Is she pregnant or just really fat. I swear she looks like she is about to explode. If she's pregnant how long till she gives birth.

She looks about ok, for size, not too fat. She's just healthy, if she is pregger, which most likly she is (unless you had her since a fry and she's never been in the same tank as males are) but like i said, if she is pregger, then she's not close to due date yet. mine are usually that size after they give birth, and they are about triple the belly size that one is.

Thank You for your reply. I have had her for about a week now. That picture really dont show how fat she really is. She wouldnt hold still for me to get any other pictures of her. I think I am just going to keep an eye on her. When I bought her the LFS said that she was pregnant along with the other 2 females I bought that day. But they also said some of my other swordtails were pregnant when I bought them and I have had them for 3 months and still no babies out of them.

well, maybe she is pregger. Mine are this big when they are close to having babies

yours may be pregger too since you just bought it from the petstore, females you get there usually have babies even when they don't look too pregnant. I think it's because of the lack of food.

yep she is pregnant, the second pic shows the bugling of the chest area and the first shows the bubbled or rippled effect of the belly area, very common in expectant gups that are about 3 weeks through gestation, shes not carrying a lot of fry though as shes not as big as you would expect to see, these females are usually 1st or 2nd time mothers and will drop only about 10 fry.

If she is about 3 weeks along she should have them in another week or two right? I have yet to see one of my fish give birth as they seem to do it in the middle of the night.LOL. I am hoping to get to see her have them.
