Hi... I'm new to guppy's but I'm pretty sure I have one male and one female. (I currently only have two) The female I'm almost positive is pregnant. I've had them for about two weeks and they're doing fine, but just today I noticed that the female looks like her internals are bleeding. I was wondering if it had anything to do with her being pregnant or if something else was wrong. She hasn't been acting any differently than she when I first got her. I don't have any pictures of her new red markings that look like hemorrhaging, but I'll try to upload some others of her. Sorry for the quality. My camera wanted to focus on the glass instead of the fish.

I can't tell completely by your pics but if she is pregnant then it may be her gravid spot. It will get darker as she gets closer to having her babies. Search gravid spot on guppy in google and look at those guppies to compare to yours.

Do some research about how to care for mom and babies while your looking.

Good luck! :D

It isn't her gravid spot. The red marks I noticed today are on her side and belly. I don't have any pics of them tho. She's too stubborn to let me get any good pictures. lol Her gravid spot has gotten larger over the last two weeks but these marks are different. They're not in the area of her gravid spot. I read that it may be a bacterial infection. Any idea how to help that?

Today she has been acting weird. She's been hiding and such like she's going to give birth but she hasn't yet and she's been like this for hours. Her red lines have gotten worse. None of my other fish are having any problems. Is she sick?

Red lines are sometime associated with high ammonia levels; have you checked them and done some water changes?

How long has your tank been set up, how big is it, what's the filtration and was it cycled? Can you please list all the inhabitants of your tank too?

Sorry for all the questions, but the more we know the more we can help :)

It is a 30 gallon that has been set up for about two weeks. The filter I have right now is too small but it's doing a pretty good job until I can get a new one. I did cycle the tank but found out after I put the fish in that I didn't cycle it long enough although all the fish have been doing well. I added NovAqua to help with the tap water affect. I currently have two guppys, two mollys, a goldfish (which I just discovered was a goldfish) and a pleco. Thanks :)

I have been breeding livebearers for a long time and they are one of the most hardy fish you can get. Without water parameters and a few good pics it's hard to be sure but your guppy may be suffering from the effects of high amonia levels in the tank. I'm going based on the information you have provided and here is how I got my conclusion:
1. You tank is new and hasn't been fully cycled which means it could be going through a high amonia cycle.
2. You have a goldfish in your tank and they are notorious for high amonia levels.

What you should do to remedy your situation:
1. Daily water changes of 50% until you know the tank is stable.
2. Give that goldfish away to a friend who keeps goldfish because it will do nothing but mess up your tank.
3. Don't get discouraged because we all go through this on our way to becoming seasoned fish keepers.
