PREGNANT GUPPIES!!!

i just went out and bought 3 new guppies from my lfs (1male and 2 females) and both the females are pregnant but not that big. Do guppies get as fat as other livebearers?

Also the male guppy is trying to mate with the female even though they are pregnant, but i thought that they dont mate when a fish is pregnant
I love the patten on the male he is so brightly coulered

Oh YES

depends on the age and size of the female, but some get HUGH.

and yes males will mate, even though they are preg, some male guppies mate with anything and everything, all the time.

This is a pic of my guppy Hillary.

She was enormous and went another week after this before giving birth yesterday. Not all of my guppies get this big, but they do get very square

The males chase the females relentlessly whether they are pregnant or not. In fact Hillary had 3 males chasing her before she gave birth Unfortunately I didn't have a spare tank for her to give birth in peace so she was hassled and all but one or two fry have survived.

I got a female that size now, she was due to have her second litter on the 15th, still no fry. Her fist litter is now 6 weeks old.
