pregnant guppie and platies!

hiya, I was just wondering but how often would you expect guppies and platies to have fry? we've had our guppies and platies since just beofre xmas ad havnt seen any fry yet?

I was sure 2 of my guppies and 1 platy was pregnant because they were quite a lot bigger then the others and had quite a dark gravid spot but nothing seems to have happened for ages!!! I would have thought they would have given birth by now because its been at least a few weeks since i noticed they were bigger?!

What fishes do you have in the tank? Decors/plants? Could be that the fry has nowhere to hide and therefore get eaten.

Mine have them almost every month, but occasionally I think they may skip a month.

well ive got quite a large variety of fish but theres a big rock in the middle with plenty of places to hide and a bit plant on the back. I would also have thought that i would have noticed some fry before they got eaten as its in my room and I generally have a look at the tank at least 4 or 5 times a day!
