I have a chinese algae eater which has a bloated abdomen. It also looks slightly darker, but that might be the light.
I know cae's are egg layers, bur do females get fat? The fish has no other symptoms and gill rate looks normal.
Tankmates are 4platies, 5 silvertip tetras and another cae. The other cae is dominant and i'm worried its stressed the ill one
Stats: am 0 ni 0 na 10 ph 8.5

Ill get a pic asap

Are scales sticking out.
What does it look like when the fish goes to the toilet.
Is the fish acting listless and lethagic.
Is the fish tilting to oneside when resting, or swimming.

What do you feed the fish.

Bloating can be constipation, swim bladder, dropsy, internal parasites,

Havent seen it poo, but the other cae has normal black poo

It always hides a lot but its not lethargic

Seems to be swimming normally but because its a bottom feeder it sits most of the time. No tilting so far
What do you feed the fish.
The bottom feeders get algae wafers, and sometimes spinach

Also check the fish anus to see if it's enlarged, or red and inflamed.

Don't feed the fish for a few days,.
Feed some shelled peas only.

Improve the fish diet with some frozen foods like daphnia, brims shrimp, green veg.
Check the fish diets needs by doing some resarch,
