Pregnant Blue Platy??

Really only a week?? I did not think she was that big, should I put her in the seperate 2 gal. tank tomorrow or soon?? I just bought her 2 weeks ago from the LFS, she must have been already pregnant I guess. Anyone else know how far along she might be??

I'd say a little over a week. You'd be surprised, almost everyday they get larger and larger. They're only pregnant for alittle over 3 weeks. I'd wait atleast 4 days before you move her. I personally dont move my female guppies to give birth, but you will know when exactly she'll have them when you see her birthing canal is protuding/sticking out. That means within 12 hrs for sure.

Sorry, don't think she's pregnant. Blue neons show a dark gravid spot all the time, regardless of pregnancy. The body shape doesn't indicate pregnancy to me. Try and look at her front on and compare her to other females - if she's pregnant, she'll be noticeably rounder.

I got some of Def's juvies and they all show the gravid spot, even the males!

Here is a pic of my orange platy Tango who is about to give birth any day now. If yours gets this big then you can be sure you will soon have fry

I am not sure if the spot is a gravid spot or just a color marking, It looks quite dark and too small to me. But hey time will tell, if it is a gravid(swedish for pregnant) spot then I would guess that it would be a couple of weeks before it gets interesting!

Yeah, Joby has it exactly. Look right under the gills of Joby's platy and compare to yours. See how there is a noticeable bump/double chin down to the stomach on Jobys, but yours is pretty straight? That's a really pregnant platy.

I have to agree with the others your platy doesn't look pregnant to me either. The belly swells quite large when they are pregant. Gavid spots are usually larger than that and not as dark. A gravid spot looks kinda like a dark area deep under the skin and not so much a dark area right on the skin if that makes any sence.
