My balloon molly is at the bottom of the tank on it's side and then I noticed a fry. I think she was.giving birth but unfortunately my other Molly ate it. Will she have more? She is still at the bottom but a bit more active. Should I move her to my 5 gallon tank till shes done?

im new to this so this might not be 100% true but i believe live bearers are a little like humans when it comes to labor. once it has 1 fry, it cant just stop labor, it has to continue and have the rest of the fry. balloon mollie can have up to 60 fry but often youll only get half of that. if ur 5 gal has no other fish that might eat fry then yes i would suggest moving her especially since she started labor unless you dont want to keep the fry. its easier to move 1 pregant fish then a bunch of tiny fry.

I tried rescuing a fry but I wasn't quick enough and my other fish ate it. My Molly also died during labor ( she was also new so she was pregnant when I first got her).
