Well, I have a lovely little yellow cobra femme who I got with her sisters at my LFS. They were all very very much preggy when I got them and I already have about 20 new fry swimming about the fry tank. (Naturally one of them waited until I left to drop fry, the little stinker) However, when I was poking about the substrate while hunting for fry I looked at another very pregnant female and noticed her scales sticking out a bit! She is pooping normally, it is not constipation.
Is it dropsy or something else?
Here are my tank stats:
Species only tank - 6 Females, 2 males
30 gallon
moderately planted
I do not test my PH, but the takn has been up and running for at least 7 months now and I have not had to test on any of my tanks. I do weekly 10% water changes/vacumes on all of my tanks.
She had been gently relocated into a spare 5 gallon, just in case it is dropsy. If it is dropsy, please tell me what to do to treat as I have never had to deal with this disease (And hopefully it's not) As I said, she is extremely pregnant and is expected to give birth any day now, so I want to be extremely careful with her. Is it a possibility her scales are just sticking out a bit b/c she's so fat?
