spotted garfish
silver needle garfish
tiger shovelnose
lungfish
ornate bichir(beautiful fish)

Spotted gars are true gars of the Lepisosteus family and will reach around 2 feet in captivity, they are fairly peacefull and are safe with fish over 2/3 their own size.

Silver needle gars are not gars at all but members of the Belonidae family. They grow to around a foot, are fairly peacefull with fish they cannot eat and can be kept with fish over 2/3 their own size.

Tiger shovelnose catfish are fast swimming openwater predators that can grow to around 4 feet, they are not suitable for home aquariums and will eat anything that will fit down their throat, only much larger or very tall bodied fish such as pacu are safe as tankmates.

Lungfish are aggressive and anti social, they can grow to up to 4 feet depending on species and have enough power in their jaws to break a mans arm. There are no safe tankmates.

Ornate bichirs like all bichirs are non aggressive to anything they cannot eat and are safe with fish that are at least half their own size. They can grow to around 2 feet.

cheers for the replies, thats tells my why the lungfish was not for sale!!!, but the rest were for sale, the tiger shovelnose was 15 pounds and nice, but was around 4-5 inches and was being housed in a 24" tank, but i do think he is a bit more expensive than bigger shops, but always has nice fish and has a good customer base to keep these fish in such small tanks as he can get rid of them sharpishly, here's a rough guide to his prices etc

tiger shovelnose 4-5 inches, 15 pounds
spotted garfish 4-5 inches, 25 pounds
silver needle 4-5 inches, 20 pounds
ornate bichir 5-6 inches, 35 pounds
lungfish 6-8 inches, NOT FOR SALE!!!

I would out the Tiger and put in the soribum lima, they get to about 12 inches in captivity. poly's are very individual, stick to the birchir you should be OK but the pennnis gets very big and not suitable which is a shame as it's the best looking one.

I would be aware of the garfish, you could get a timid one or a rather angry one ...Chance you take but a tiger is a deinate No NO
