Practical Fishkeeping Photo Contest

am i right in saying that gf has taken that tank apart? is that what jimboo is say? oh no, who would u do a thing like that???

Lucifer

i'll get my coat.........

fantastic shots mate. i must admit your dutch style picture was the reason i started this journey into the planted tank world. it used to be your sig pic right?

the rest are all beautiful. if you've sent them in on a CD then i'm sure you'll have sucess. theyre just stunning. they wee all over mine IMO.

it's a shame you had to strip the tank down. it really was a beauty.

i almost hope you dont get an offer of a reader visit, that would finish you off after taking it all apart.
Thanks matey.

I personally don't think they're better, just different. Also it's worth remember that the readership of PFK are definitely fish-bias, close-ups of plants etc. I doubt will sell as well. This aspect will have some influence of the judges decision I'm sure.

As we have already discussed it is very hard to view one's work objectively sometimes. You look at the image for so long you lose the overall intended impression that it is trying to acheive. I'm sure there's a word or phrase used to describe this process but I'm not that well educated.

True about the home visit. You beat me to it though and I'm sure they only do them very occasionally.

I'd be chuffed to bits if they published any of my future articles to be honest.

How did I not see this thread yesterday ? They are all awesome photos - I really love the last one in particular  Good luck

I thought I resurrect this thread as the last photo has been published in the latest Practical Fishkeeping magazine. I’m still waiting to receive the copy though as I’m 8000 miles away in the Falkland Islands! Look out for next month’s edition too as Jimbooo’s reader visit is in there.

While I’m at it there will be my series of articles published in the October to December issues, all about on the high-tech planted aquarium.

Regards,
George
