PPM vs mg/l

This is a question I'm almost embarassed to ask since I am very good with maths but don't know jack about the metric system. If something says .1 mg/l what is that in ppm?

For dilute solutions 1 mg/L is the same thing as 1 ppm.

They are not exactly the same as mg/L is a measure of mass per volume and ppm is a measure of volume per volume, but for any concentrations needed for fishkeeping the difference is negligible.
