Yeah, a good middle ground for most reef systems is x20 flowrate. Unless you're keeping high flow corals (ie sps or clams) everywhere in your tank, x20 is a good number.
Okay well i have found these Jebo powerheads 2000lph which would be 4000lph a 25X turnover an hour....would it be ok to switch one of them off at night i would still have a 12.5 X turnover?
yes its possible to switch one off at night but remember the risk of having a powerhead turned off can lead to fish ising it as a hidey hole and other forms of life entering the powerhead. Once it gets switched back on in the morning you will have a mashed fish or invert in there
Tunze Streams are very good for this as they can be dialed down to a lower flow at night without having to be switched off.
