Would it be ok to get like a 10 gallon powerhead in my 55 gallon tank to create some flow?
all i have for flow now is a top fin 60 powerfilter.

you could although I don't think it would provide very much current, IMHO most filters don't provide enough filtration for the size tanks they are rated for, you could get a fluval type internal filter to provide extra filtration and current or you could get a larger powerhead and make it into a filter. :good:

its just a freshwater and i wanted to make some current.
so you think that a 10 gallon powerhead would create not that much flow?
what about a 20 gallon powerhead?

You will always be suprised how little they provide.
Depending on your budget, you could get a eheim aquaball and only run it with 1 filter in it for the moment. The advantage of them is that you can add more modules to it to suit a larger tank if you ever needed to. It also is very easy to clean and maintain.
