Power Cut...

We had a power cut last night of around 5 hrs, would that of harmed the filter in any way... will be monitoring the water closely!

It won't have done too much damage, the media will have remained wet, and even if it was starved the die back will be approximately 2-2.5%, the die back is said to be approximately 9% every 24 hours, the tank should have held its temperature okay, the filter will be fine so don't worry.

No, you should be fine after that long. Obviously do an ammonia test just to check, but you shouldn't notice anything.
