I was wondering if plants like hairgrass and cryptocoryne should be taken out of their pots when they are planted. I will be buying more plants tomorrow so I will make sure I put a picture of my tank up.

I'm fairly new to live plants, but yes you should take them out of their pots before you plant them. The most frustrating part is removing the wool. I try to not rip off the roots along with it but sometimes it is unavoidable.

Yep remove the pots and as much of the wool as you can without breaking the roots to much, it restricts root growth leaving it on. You also want to trim the roots to around 1" as it helps with planting them and also encourages new growth :)
