I've been looking around aquariumplants.com and they offer some of their aquatic plants potted. Do you emmerse the plant with the pot? Is it potted so you don't have to tie it down to a rock or driftwood? If not, how do you handle the plant for tank introduction?

No you always take potted plants out of the pot. The advantage of buying potted plants is normally you get lots of plants and they will have better growth already.

Depending on the plant depends on what you do with it. You always remove the pot, normally in the pot is 'rockwool' which is a fibre like substance that allows the plant to grow roots in it. You carefully take this off. then depending on the plant you can either plant it in your substrate or attach it to bogwood for example with glue/fishing line.

The pots make great hideouts for shrimps.

I will definitely have to remember that to try and price compare. TYVM!
there usually around 30p more than leaded but worth it.
with the stem plants i always take a look at the bottom of the pot to see if theres a root system or not if not i leave it in the pot and half bury the pot in the substrate for about a week untill it developes roots
i never buy the bunched plants anymore as i have found the potted to be much easier to get established.

is it true that a lot of leaded plants end up with crushed stems?

yes but you can just trim it off they will take longer to get established and you can get frustrated constantly putting them back in the substrate after you find them floating in the tank which is why i get potted and wait for a root system to form so they have something to hold them down
