Potential Ich Outbreak

hey all well after just staring at my tank i noticed what i think might be the start of ich on my texas cichlid. pics wont help but it does start to look like a couple white dots here and there. its not bad yet so i will have to wait to go to the fish store in the morn for some meds (i have everything for fungus popeye,finrot etc... but no ich treatments) anyways i was wondering what u guys think is a good brand for treating ich

well i bought mardel- maracide and i treated the tank last night, should i be leaving the lights off? should i be adding aq salt? any help would be nice since ive never had ick lol

what kind of fish do you have? salt can be of use if you have any fish that like brackish water although its no good if you have any scaly fish. also some treatments can lower the oxygen levels. if your fish are gasping at the top of the tank turn up your pump a little. turning up the temperature slowly to 85f helps to rid you of white spot. also white spot can remain dormant in you tank it hides in the substrate. treat for at least 14 days to make sure it is gone. hope some of this helps and good luck
