Fish Herder
Ok, I want to eventually set up a 125 gallon tank, with a nice refugium sump setup (DIY style). I want to have corals and anenomes and all that good stuff eventually. I can set up the tank to fit all fo the needs of the species I desire. I'm not saying this is what I want to put into the tank, its just what I would like, and would like your opinions on which ones go best together and which ones are so-so. Remember this isn't what's going in the tnak, it's jsut a list of hte fish, inverts and corals that I would be interested in, and adjust the amounts that would be needed to go along with it (if any). Did that make sense... I might need to revise it later
I'm looking for a nice peacful tank where noone will really bother anyone and the colors will be fantastic!
So without going to far into it... ( all these profiles can be found on http

Fish
- Orange Spotted Goby (Amblyeleotris guttata)
- Wheeler's Watchman Goby (Amblyeleotris wheeleri)
- Ocellaris Clownfish - Tank-Bred (Amphiprion ocellaris)- Maybe some other types, I don't know yet.
- Royal Gramma Basslet (Gramma loreto)
- Barnacle Blenny (Acanthemblemaria sp.)- From what I have read, you could make a small colony of these guys... ???
- Black Barred Convict Goby (Priolepis nocturnus)- I love Convict cichlids in FW, thought this might be a cute play on it?
- Jawfish, Yellowhead (Opistognathus aurifrons)- I realize it's shy, but I don't plan on having too many fish orsandsifters
- Convict Tang (Acanthurus triostegus)- Centerpeice fish? Again, I'm playing off the convict thing.
- Red Head Solon Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus solorensis)
- Exquisite Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus exquisitus)
- Longfin Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus rubriventralis)
- Scott's Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus scottorum)- Maybe forget the others and add the 3 regional variations of this guy as I'm into same fish different pattern things?
Corals- Note corals, will be added much later than the fish, once I get my "sea legs" under me a bit more.
- Montipora Coral, Encrusting (Montipora nodosa)- SPS Hard Coral
- Spiny Cup Pectinia Coral (Pectinia sp.)- SPS Hard Coral
- Montipora Coral, Encrusting, Green (Montipora nodosus)- SPS Hard Coral
- Tube Coral - Black (Tubastraea micrantha)- LPS Hard Coral
- Green Fluorescent Mushroom (Actinodiscus sp.)- Mushroom Coral
- Starburst Polyp (Briareum sp.)- Polyp
- Colony Polyp, Super Colored (Zoanthus sp.)- Polyp
- Pipe Organ Coral (Tubipora musica)- Polyp
Invertebrates
- Carpet Anemone, Electric Green (Stichodactyla haddoni)- Thinking of the Ocellaris Clownfish - Tank-Bred (Amphiprion ocellaris) here.
- Dwarf Red Tip Hermit Crab (Clibanarius sp.)
- Scarlet Reef Hermit Crab (Paguristes cadenati)
- Dwarf Blue Leg Hermit Crab (Clibanarius tricolor)
- Dwarf Zebra Hermit Crab (Calcinus laevimanus)
- Electric Orange Hermit Crab (Calcinus sp.)
- Halloween Hermit Crab (Ciliopagurus strigatus)
- Staghorn Hermit Crab (Manucomplanus varians)- I was thinking that maybe I could keep it in the refugium or something?
- Sea Cucumber (Holothuria sp.)- Its size and the "Poisonous When Stressed or Dies" scares me though.
- Hawaiian Feather Duster (Sabellastarte sp.)
- Christmas Tree Worm on Rock, Multicolor (Spirobranchus sp.)- I like this worm the best though.
- Lettuce Sea Slug (Nudibranch), Green (Tridachia crispata)
- Marble Sea Star, Assorted (Fromia sp.)
- Scarlet Skunk Cleaner Shrimp (Lysmata amboinensis)
- Pistol Shrimp (Alpheus sp.)- For Orange Spotted Goby (Amblyeleotris guttata) and Wheeler's Watchman Goby (Amblyeleotris wheeleri), corals?
- Cerith Snail (Cerithium sp.)
- Nassarius Snail (Nassarius sp.)
- Banded Trochus Snail (Trochus sp.)
- Super Tongan Nassarius Snail (Nassarius distortus)
- Top Crown Snail (Astrea undoza)
- Nerite Snail (Nerita sp.)- Both varieties are cool
- Fighting Conch - Aquacultured (Strombus alatus)
- Indonesian Turban Snail (Turbo sp.)
- Tongan Fighting Conch (Strombus gibberulus)
- Zebra Turbo Snail (Turbo sp.)
- Crocea Clam, Super Colored (Tridacna crocea)- Will it eat my small fish and inverts?
- Pincushion Urchin, Blue Tuxedo (Mespilia globulus)
There is the long list. I'm sure all of these can't go together, maybe one day I'll get a tank large enough to do that. But what are your guys' intakes?
On a side note, I'm thinking when I get better at this, maybe getting a reef tank of just:
- Dragonface Pipefish (Corythoichthys haematopterus)
- Kuda Seahorse - Tank-Bred (Hippocampus kuda)
- Inverts/ "Cleanup crew"
