Posting Fish From Uk To Ireland

Hi have a good freind who lives in Dublin Ireland and he wants some of my Killifish. Could i send them over to Ireland ok ?
Has anyone ever sent fish from the Uk to Ireland, and if yes which service did you use ?

Any advice or info would be much appriciated.

I'm from Belfast and I order stuff from England all the time.

Thanks for your reply. Do you know what service they use ? Have you had live fish delivered before ?

I cant be sure now - but I assume they put the fish in a clear bag, and then put the bag in a big styrofoam container (as I hear that traps the heat).

For a short overseas trip (eg. from England to here) it should be enough.

PS - cant stress enough that you seek more information before you go ahead with it!!!

Cheers for the info. Ive also spoken from Ireland that sends and has fish delivered all the time and he says apart from one time its always been ok. My freind will be happy. :good:

Do they not need to go through quarantine? I don't know the answer but I thought shipping live animals between countries will require going through custom etc.

In the UK I assumed that law doesn't apply - only between different nations like France, Germany etc

After all, what do the English have in terms of wildlife that we dont? =P
