I REALLY would love to see some of yalls cannister filters in action and allsetup. I just wana see what they look like all put together and doing their thing. PLZZZZZZ post pics!!!!

Theres two filters, a fluval 304 (in the white bucket) and a 204.

WOW dang that looks so complicated!!! How many wall plugs do those things require? Or i guess you use a plug strip or something. How often do you have to clean those? are they alot of work to keep going or no?

OHH ya also can you get a pic of ur tank cuzz i wana see what the filter parts that are in the tank look like.

in the top left corner there is a 6 way plug strip. Each socket is taken. I have two filters, two air pumps a heater and a light plugged in.

Its not that complicated, if you do one filter at a time when you install it and ignore everything else and try not to get hoses and wires confused then its ok.

I only have two filters because my fish (will be) very messy eaters and need hardcore filteration. A tank of that size (im told) would usualy only need the one 304 filter.

So far, the tank is fairly new and I havnt had to clean it out yet, but it looks pretty simple. Just shut the valves off on the hoses and un-do the clips and the whole thing comes apart in a top head which houses the motor and a big tub which has all the filter media in. There is obviously some dribbling and splashing when you do this, thats what the buckets for.

Its easy to set up, the hoses have rubber bushings that just slide over the spraybars and the ports on the filter.

Took me about an hour to install both the filters including the spraybars and the media, and it was the first time I had done it...
This is the tank. You can just about see the spraybars at teh back
This is abit of slate but behind it in the background you can see the intake for the smaller filter. This sucks up the water and has a plastic guard to prevent it sucking up small fish.
You can just about see the two spraybars in this pic, they run parralell to each other so they distribute the flow properly.
This shows the heater and the second intake for the bigger filter.

Well here's how my Canister set up looks like. They're both Ehiems. I clean the filters out about every 3-6 months. (usually when I remember too)

This one is from the 55 gallon.

They both work really great and easy to clean.

It's noisy (but that's a known Rena XP filter problem & gripe).
But that said, it has a tremendous outflow and power so until I have the money to upgrade to a much larger Eheim, it will stay. But as soon as I can: it will go !
