Hey guys ^^

I'm new to keeping fish in such a large tank (to me). Twenty gallons is the biggest size i've ever had

For the beginning of the cycle I've started with Platies, and I recently noticed that my female Avalin, looks like she has a gravid spot. I am really unsure about this, and help would be nice

She is also swimming around a lot, but she spends a lot of her time behind my air pump tubes, and behind my rock shelter. When she does go to the top, she usually swims around the top for a bit then she goes behind the tube, then back with my other platys, so I cant really figure out her deal.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

She looks like she is carrying some weight in a good way ;)
But only about half way though as when close she will be much larger unless it's a small brood.

How long do you think it will be before she delivers?

edit :

I think my other female is pregnant, it looks like a small little gravid spot has just began to form.

It all depends on temperature mainly, at 76F they take around 4 weeks between giving birth.

Gravid spots are not always a true sign of pregnancy.
Theres a good chance she is pregnant but its hard too tell how far on she is in that picture. If you look at the topic on how to tell if your livebearer is ready to drop it gives great advice and explains how your fish will square off when shes near to giving birth.
Did you cycle the tank before adding them or are you cycling using the platy's?
