Today is the 4th day of cycling my tank. I seeded my tank with some gravel from a couple of local pet stores. It is hanging in my aquarium in pantyhose. Today I noticed that white fuzzy stuff is beginning to cover the outside of the pantyhose. Is this possibly bacteria or mold or something?? Or is that just plain nasty??

if i were you, i'd take out the pantyhose. i had a similar situation with willow tree branches rotting in my tank and eventually, my female betta got infected and died.

I do have a power filter. Should I try putting the rocks in a different set of pantyhose or discard the rocks all together? I was hoping this would speed the cycling process up.
