I think Old Blue may have swim bladder. He is swimming kind of weird, and cannot seem to sink. I did a complete water change even though I did 50% yesterday, but I am not sure how do proceed. Does this sound like swim bladder? And if so, what do I do to help him out?

Have you tried feeding pea? sometimes this can help smiwbladder problems :good:

My latest rescue Buster has a similar problem but he does nothing but sink :/ he gets small amount of food everyother day then pea once a week and is improving

I'll have to try that. I didn't feed him this morning, as I read somewhere to fast them for 2 to three days. He seems a little more steady today after a day of fasting and a water change.

if the fasting doesnt do the trick most likely the pea will. Feed a bit of cooked chopped up pea and fast for another day or 2. and if THAT doesnt work, Epsom salt would be the next thing to try. And if THAT fails, i wouldnt worry too much. Swimbladder sometimes is irreversible. as long as they can swim somewhat normally, enough to eat and breathe, he should be fine.
are there any other symptoms? Like flicking rubbing or spitting out food? Just to be sure its not a parasitic cause.
all the best
cheers

Well this morning, after fasting for 2 days, he seems more comfy. He was able to sink finally lol, and I noticed him this morning relaxin in his favorate corner on the bottom of his tank. When I went up to the tank to check on him, he jumped up, his little fins waggin (just like a puppy lol) and following me around. I think he is okay. I am going to give him peas for his next meal before I resume fish food for him. No other symptoms though, just couldnt stay at the bottom. He looked like a fishing bobber lol poor little guy
