I think my damsel fish are either mating or laying eggs i don't know exactly.

One of them guards the rock and the other one darts to and from the rock running their white thing from underneath across the rock. I can`t see anything leaving its behind (dunno the correct term) but they are forever cleaning the rock by using their fins. And they do seem to be chasing the other fish away.

Does anyone know if they lay eggs?

I found some white see through eggs on a different rock yesterday but nothing was in them so dunno what cud have been in them or layed them there, but no fish seems to be interested in them either.

Damsel mating behavior is very similar to clownfish mating behavior. They start by guarding an area and cleaning/scraping the rocks. Eventually the female will deposit eggs on the rock and the male will spawn over them. The fertilized eggs will be guarded with their lives

Well, not always. Many male damselfish, such as the blue devil, will readily abandon thousands of eggs if it means taking over another, larger nest, which will give them more attention from the girls. In this species the males are territorial and must attract females, one of the ways to do this is to have more eggs in one's nest.

I'm not sure of Dascyllus species but since they are more of a shoaling genus I would imagine them to be more similar to blue devils than to clowns. Either way, yes, they very well could be spawning.
