All of a sudden, one of my bala sharks stopped swimming and started twitching.
It's like the right side of his body doesn't work.
He is trying to swim and stay alive but only one side of his body is working.

I'm clueless.

OK...he's back to normal..but i can kinda notice that he has a red color inside his body (i can kind of see through with the light)

Sounds like he had a stroke or something (can fish have strokes??) My baby angelfish died of a similar thing - was fine one minute, twitching violently the next, then lost all control to swim & got caught in the current, floated into a plant, twitched a couple bits more......& then he was dead :-( I don't know what happened, but maybe a similar thing to your guy - I hope he pulls through.....sorry I'm not more useful, hopefully someone with more experience will be along soon.

EDIT: oh wow, glad he's doing better. Not a clue what the red could be though.....

hey there, How old is your bala and how big is he?

I was going to say the twitching is normal, as all my bala's do it when they are sleeping. But if you say you saw red, quit possibly it could be internal bleeding.

Did he ram up against anything that could have cause that much damage?

i had one that was twitching and swimming all over and odly falling etc. he died. i only had him 2 minutes.

Thats odd and also very sad. :byebye: Usually Balas are extremely hardy and almost unbreakable!
