yesterday i saw my blenny not moving at all, and hes usually all over the place and active. I know people say they are hard to keep because they are picky eaters but this happened out of no where. one day hes fine and the next hes not moving much. I am going to try to increase the time i feed the fish, i usually see him eat the brine shrimp so maybe that will help?? any thoughts?

How long have you had your scooter for? What size tank is he in? Water parameters? SH

i had him for about 3 months, 29 gallon tank.

pH-8.1
nitrate,nitrite-0
sg-1.025
temp- 78-79 average
calcium was real low, but have been raising it for about 2 weeks now. all the other fish seem fine.

He was probably just resting. By the way, brine shrimp have very little nutritional value. It is unlikely that they could sustain a scooter blenny for long.

yea, the funny thing is that ive only been feeding brine shrimp for about 1 month, before that he was doing great. I purchased some cyclops, will that help? Oh and i tried out those algae sheets and not even one of my fish went for it. is there a reason?

Yes, cyclops is better. Remember that they cannot survive in salt water.

Your other fish are probably not biting the seaweed because they are not herbivorous. I notice that nori is recommended to feed almost everything under the sun, which it cannot do. What fish do you have?

well lynden, u were right when he said he was just resting, now hes resting for good :shout: i woke up this morning and he was dead....

<------------R.I.P little scooter

my other fish are 2 perc clowns, pygmy angel, rainfords goby, clown goby and 6 line wrasse, the box with the algae sheets say that both angels and wrasses like algae as well as the rainfords...

Rest in peace, Scooter Blenny.

Your pygmy angel and goby may warm up to the algae in time, but I cannot imagine the wrasse eating it. No problem, as none of them actually require supplemental green foods.
