Possible Fin Rot

Ok last nite while doing my usual 'checks' more like getting lost in the tank lol, i saw that 1 of my platys has a white piece of whats near like skin hanging off its dorsal fin. Also the dorsal is half missing along with a good chunk of the tail fin. It does'nt look as if it has been eatin or nipped more like it has warn away.

Is this fin rot or something worse. I dont have pics atm so any advice or suggestions would be great.

not sure of red streaking as they are red all over

I just started runing a new filter(ehiem 2215) along with the built in 1 which it came with. The new filter is for a new tank which everything will be moved into in about a months time.

Your tanks overstocked.
Red tailed shark need 40 gallons plus they can be aggressive, wouldn't surprise me if it was him that was nipping.
I would issolate the sick fish and try melafix if you think its fin nipping.
If its bacterial finrot you will need myxazin by waterlife.

I know im overstocked hense the new tank comming soon.
The rtbs i have is a placid 1 only ever gave probs at the start.

I dont have a QT tank so would it ok to dose the whole tank with myxazin. The marks dont look like nipping they are too big, it loks like a tiny human bite. was'nt me tho lol.

Add the myxazin to the whole tank then.
Livebearers once they lose half of there tail they never seem to make it so good luck.
