my platy who is about a few mothns is lying on the bottom of the tank in an old familiar way, she appears to be pregnant but also appears to have bacterial infection she has been in the same spot all day, should i treat with meds?
tank specs are fine!

How big is the tank?
What are your water changing regimens?
What is your filter?
What are the other inhabitants?
Where is the bacterial infection?
Water stats?
How long has she been like this?
Does her anus look red or inflamed, is she defecating normally?
What is her diet?

I have seen mollys and platys with odd behaviors like this before birth. From the pic, she looks very pregnant. I had a molly who before birth, stopped swimming, she layed on the bottom and let the filter suck her in, she laid sucked against the filter for a day before giving birth, she then swam to the surface for food and lived happily for 3 years, she did this every so often during births. However the tanks ammonia ntrite and nitrate levels are helpful in finding the true problem. Also if she does have a bacterial infection, tell us what it looks like and where it is on her.

thats not her at all thats an old fish that died i never got around to removing, sorry, the tank is about 10 gallons i believe the infection lies at her abdominal area she doesnt seem happy i have these med capsules i can use

this has been going on for 2 days
dont see any problems in that area
her diet is tropical fish flakes

If you had a dead fish in the tank it will make the fish ill.
I would do a gravel vac and water change to see how she goes.
