Im from the UK...
I think one of my Tiger Barbs may have Pop-eye...he came to the tank like that from the LFS...I didnt notice it till I put them into the tank but thought he may just have a funny eye....he has been like this for nearly 3 weeks but I only recently have come to the conclusion it may be Pop-eye...the eye itself is bulging...but very neatly so not one side is more than the other...
My question is...I dont have a QT tank to place him in whilst I medicate...is it safe to put the medication in the main tank without harming anything else or the biological filter?
My water readings are:
Ammonia: 0
Nitrites: 0
Nitrates: 10
My current stock (88 Litre Tank):
6 Tiger Barbs
6 Zebra Danio
1 Bolivian Ram
1 German Blue Ram
1 RTBS
1 Gold Gourami
I am doing daily water changed at the moment of 40% till I can get some medication...all the other fish seem fine...the sick Tiger Barb is even eating fine..swimming fine...occasionally he does seem a little quiet at the back of the tank but 90% of the time he is swimming happily with the other T.Barbs...
Any advice would be helpful? Best medication to use?
Thanks in advance.
Mark
