A couple of weeks ago we got a small puffer fish who seemed quite content feeding on bloodworm and even taking tetra prima granules. After a few days he began to spend alot of time sitting on the bottom, moving around occasionally. Yesterday i thought he was dead until i went to pick him out and he began swimming. However it looked like his tail was paralysed and was curled to one side so he simply swam in tight circles. Tonight he was upside down at the surface so again thought he was dead but he again began swimming. He does seem paralysed with only his pectoral fins vibrating.

I have noticed my golden tiger barbs, a couple of which have been swimming nose down alot of the time. Out of a group of 6, 2 are very fat and the other 4 have bright red noses so i have assumed they are kind of in breeding condition. One of the fat ones died a couple of days ago however. I gently squeezed its stomach to see if eggs would come out however its stomach simply burst (very easily). I have noticed a little bit of flicking tongith too.

Any ideas? are the problems related.

We need a lot more info before we can really help.

Tank size, how long set up, filtration and water change regime plus a list of all the inhabitants and any test results you have.
