my plattys have been acting strange for few days now, they just hang at the top or sit at bottom of tank. water stats are ammonia - 0, nitrIte - 0 and nitrAte - 20. i added some salt to tank the other day and they seemed to pick up. i noticed on 2 of them there poo is a bit white and also just the plattys are flicking themselves up things..... every other fish is well except plattys. there is no obvious sign of ich. :dunno: they all are feeding ok (i feed dried, live and green food)

could this be a fungal or bacterial infection? ie the white poo i have some stuff called PRIMAFIX which is for bacterial and fungal infections should i be using this?

im at a bit of a loss what to do guys so any help greatly appreciated.

MY fish flick on things, usually for itches. White spot would obviously show white spots.

Hard to think of whats wrong with them...have they been more motivated before and are now not moving much? Mine have some white poo ocasionally, never had a problem.
Could possibly be a internal infection, but if they are eating fine I persoannly would hold back on putting treatments in the tank.

Where abouts in Southampton are you> Im in Lordswood.

Long stringy white poo can indicate a few problems what do you feed the fish, the flickng isn't right if they are doing it often,is the anus red and inflamed, do they look blaoted or skinny, any sign of red inflamed gills, any grains of salt of them, or a yellowish dusting on them.

Sounds like gill flukes as the water quality is good.

noticed to day that one of the females has got inflamed gills and they are pretty red.... there still eating fine but still seem very lethargic. dont want to throw random meds in the tank so need to try and find out the prob
